Definition
An orthopedist, or orthopedic surgeon, is a doctor who specializes in the musculoskeletal system. They treat injuries and conditions affecting bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. This includes fractures, sprains, arthritis, and sports-related injuries. Orthopedists may use surgical or non-surgical methods to help patients regain movement and alleviate pain. They are like mechanics for your body, fixing and maintaining your skeletal structure. Think of them as the body's repair team.
