Otoe refers to a Native American tribe, part of the Chiwere-speaking group, historically located in the Great Plains region of present-day Nebraska and surrounding areas. They were closely related to the Iowa and Missouri tribes. The Otoe people were skilled hunters and farmers. They had a unique culture influenced by their prairie environment. Unlike some nomadic tribes, they established semi-permanent villages. Their society valued community and adaptability. The Otoe tribe continues to preserve its heritage today.
