Panicled aster (*Symphyotrichum lanceolatum*) is a tall, branching aster with numerous small, white to pale lavender flowers arranged in a panicled inflorescence (a branched cluster). These late-blooming perennials are common in moist meadows, ditches, and along roadsides. Unlike some asters, it can spread aggressively, forming large colonies. Think of it as the party animal of the aster family, showing up late and bringing lots of friends. 🎉 It provides a vital late-season food source for pollinators.
