Definition
Parazoa is a biological term used to classify animals that lack true tissues and organs. This group includes sponges, which are among the simplest multicellular animals. 🧽 Unlike most other animals (Eumetazoa), parazoans don't have specialized cells organized into distinct tissues and organs. Their cells are relatively independent and can perform various functions. Sponges filter feed, drawing water through pores in their bodies. Understanding parazoa helps us trace the evolution of animal complexity. They represent an early branch in the animal kingdom. 🌳
