Definition
Parheliacal is an adjective describing something related to or characterized by parhelia (sun dogs). If you see a bright spot next to the sun caused by ice crystals, you're witnessing a parheliacal phenomenon. Essentially, it's the adjective form of "parhelion." These events are atmospheric optics in action. It means that the atmospheric conditions are just right to bend sunlight to make the spots appear beside the sun. Think of it as nature putting on a light show!
