Definition
Parrotiopsis is a genus of flowering plants in the family Hamamelidaceae. It contains only one species, Parrotiopsis jacquemontiana, native to the Himalayas. This shrub or small tree is valued for its ornamental qualities, including attractive foliage and showy bracts. Unlike other members of the family, Parrotiopsis is relatively rare in cultivation. It is somewhat similar to Parrotia, but differs in several key botanical characteristics. Parrotiopsis thrives in cool, moist environments.
