Perfect pitch, also known as absolute pitch, is the rare skill of identifying a musical note by ear without any reference. Imagine instantly knowing the name of a note played on the piano, a guitar, or any instrument. It's like having an internal musical tuning fork. This ability allows some musicians to transcribe music effortlessly and identify errors in tuning with ease. It's mostly developed in early childhood and remains relatively uncommon. Though coveted, perfect pitch isn't required to be a successful musician.
