Definition
A polysyllable is simply a word that has more than one syllable π£οΈ. Think of it as any word you can clap out more than once. 'Banana,' 'computer,' and 'vocabulary' are all polysyllables. It's a straightforward term used in phonetics and linguistics. It's the opposite of a monosyllable (a word with only one syllable). There is no upper limit to how many syllables a polysyllable may contain.
