A "poster girl" is a female equivalent of a "poster boy" or "poster child," used to represent a particular cause, product, or idea, often to promote it or elicit support. She embodies qualities or characteristics associated with what's being promoted. 🙋♀️ It's similar to being a symbol or representative. She's often intentionally chosen, with the person being aware of her role. However, sometimes it's used sarcastically to describe someone unintentionally representing something negative.
