Definition
A psocid is any insect belonging to the order Psocoptera. They are often called booklice or barklice. 🐛 Psocids are small, soft-bodied, and generally live in damp environments. They feed on molds, fungi, and organic debris. 🍄 Unlike true lice, they don't parasitize animals. Consider them tiny recyclers, breaking down organic matter. They are a significant part of indoor and outdoor ecosystems.
