Definition
The Quran (also spelled Koran) is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be the direct word of God (Allah) as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. It's organized into 114 chapters, called surahs, each containing verses (ayat). Think of it as the ultimate user manual for life, according to Islamic teachings. It guides Muslims on matters of faith, ethics, and law. It is regarded as the final and complete revelation. Like a divine constitution, it shapes both personal and societal life.
