The rabbit test, historically used to determine pregnancy, involved injecting a female rabbit with a woman's urine. If the woman was pregnant, hormones in her urine would cause changes in the rabbit's ovaries. The rabbit was then sacrificed, and its ovaries were examined. It sounds harsh by today's standards! This test was more accurate than earlier methods but was eventually replaced by faster and more humane tests. Think of it as an outdated biological detector.
