The renal corpuscle, also known as the Malpighian body, is the initial filtering component of the nephron in the kidney. It's where the blood filtration process begins. Think of it as the entry point for waste removal! 🚪 It consists of the glomerulus (a cluster of capillaries) enclosed within Bowman's capsule. Blood enters the glomerulus, and the renal corpuscle filters water, ions, and small molecules into Bowman's capsule, creating a filtrate that proceeds to the renal tubules for further processing. ⚙️
