Definition
Rheumatic refers to or is affected by rheumatism, a general term for conditions causing chronic pain and stiffness in the joints or muscles. It's often associated with aches and pains that seem to move around the body. Unlike a localized injury, rheumatic pain is widespread and can affect multiple areas. It is similar to having a persistent, underlying discomfort that flares up periodically. Think of it as more pervasive than a simple muscle strain. The discomfort is nagging and limits movement.
