Definition
Risible describes something so absurd or ludicrous that it provokes laughter. It suggests that something is worthy of being laughed at, often due to its foolishness or ridiculousness. Unlike 'funny,' which is more general, 'risible' implies a sense of scornful or mocking laughter. A risible argument might be so poorly constructed that it's easily dismissed. Think of a character in a play making a series of blunders. It suggests it's laugh-worthy to an almost critical level.
