Definition
A scrub-bird is essentially the same as a scrubbird: an Australian bird adapted to living in scrubby environments. Think of them as the secretive avian inhabitants of dense, low-lying vegetation. They are masters of disguise, expertly blending into their surroundings. Their calls are often the most noticeable aspect of their presence. These birds tend to forage on the ground, searching for insects and seeds. They prefer environments with thick undergrowth. They are generally shy and difficult to spot.
