Definition
A sequoiadendron is a massive evergreen tree, specifically the giant sequoia, known for its immense size and longevity. These trees are native to the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Think of them as the gentle giants of the plant world, living for thousands of years. They're like the Ents from Lord of the Rings, ancient and wise. While they are related to the coastal redwoods, sequoiadendrons are much more massive in volume, although not quite as tall. They represent resilience and enduring strength in the face of time.
