Definition
Streamline flow, also known as laminar flow, is a type of fluid motion where the fluid travels in smooth, parallel layers, with minimal mixing. Imagine honey flowing slowly and smoothly from a spoon. Each layer of fluid slides past adjacent layers without disruption. Unlike turbulent flow, streamline flow is characterized by predictable and orderly motion. It occurs at lower speeds and with higher viscosity fluids. Streamline flow reduces drag and is efficient for fluid transport.
