Threadworms, also known as pinworms, are tiny parasitic worms that commonly infect humans, especially children. They reside in the colon and rectum, emerging at night to lay eggs around the anus, causing intense itching. Imagine them as microscopic spaghetti that throws a rave in your digestive system—uninvited, of course. Unlike earthworms which are beneficial, threadworms are simply unwelcome guests. They are easily spread through contact, so hygiene is essential. Their presence is more of a nuisance than a serious health threat, think of them as annoying little squatters. Medicated creams are usually effective.
