Definition
A thysanuron is an outdated term for an insect belonging to the order Thysanura, now divided into other orders. These insects are small, wingless creatures known for their silvery or brownish scales and three long, tail-like appendages. Think of them as ancient insect prototypes, similar to how early cell phones evolved into smartphones. They prefer dark, humid places, like under rocks or inside old books. They're not harmful to humans, but their presence might indicate a moisture problem. These insects are scavengers, feeding on starches and sugars.
