Twill weave is a textile weave pattern characterized by diagonal ribs on the surface. It's created by passing the weft thread over one or more warp threads then under two or more warp threads. This produces a distinctive diagonal pattern, unlike plain weaves. Think of denim jeans – that's twill! It's more durable and drapeable than plain weave. The diagonal lines make it resistant to wear and tear. The direction of the twill can be changed to create interesting effects.
