Definition
A vinegarroon is a type of arachnid also known as a whip scorpion, characterized by its whip-like tail and defensive spray of acetic acid, which smells like vinegar. These nocturnal predators are found in warm, humid environments. They use strong pincers (pedipalps) to capture insects and other small prey. Despite their scorpion-like appearance, they are not true scorpions and lack a stinger. They are generally harmless to humans. Think of them as the bodyguards of the insect world.
