"Viola arvensis," also known as the field pansy, is a common European wildflower. It's a member of the violet family, but much smaller than its cultivated cousins. Think of it as the humble, less flashy sibling of the garden pansy. It typically has pale yellow or white petals with a touch of purple. It grows in fields and disturbed ground. The plant is an annual, completing its life cycle in one year. Itβs like the pop-up shop of the flower world, here for a season and then gone.
