Definition
A water moccasin, also known as an Agkistrodon piscivorus or cottonmouth, is a venomous snake found in the southeastern United States. These snakes inhabit swamps, rivers, and other wetlands. Water moccasins are known for their aggressive behavior and distinctive white mouth lining. They feed on fish, frogs, and small mammals. ⚠️ These snakes should be treated with extreme caution.
