Definition
A 'wine waiter' (or 'wine steward') is a restaurant staff member specifically responsible for serving wine. They take wine orders, present the wine, open the bottle, and pour it for the guests. Their job is to ensure the wine is served correctly and enhances the dining experience. While they have some wine knowledge, it may not be as extensive as a sommelier's. Think of them as the wine servers. They're more than just drink servers.
