Zinacef is another brand name for cefuroxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, administered either by injection or intravenously. It is used to fight bacterial infections by disrupting cell wall formation. It is similar to damaging bacterial infrastructure. Zinacef is effective against a range of bacteria. It treats infections like pneumonia, sepsis, and skin infections. Zinacef is frequently used in hospital settings to manage serious bacterial infections. Like all antibiotics, use must be carefully controlled. This prevents development of antibiotic resistance.
