A discovered check in chess occurs when a piece moves, uncovering an attack on the opponent's king by another piece. It's a sneaky attack that can catch your opponent off guard! Unlike a direct check, the attacking piece wasn't threatening the king before the move. It's similar to setting a trap in a strategy game. The moved piece can also create other threats simultaneously. Discovered checks are often powerful tactical weapons. The player creates two threats with a single move.
