The Fatiha is the first chapter (surah) of the Quran, Islam's holy book. It is a short but powerful prayer recited in every Islamic prayer (salat). It serves as an opening and a summary of the Quran's main themes: God's oneness, His mercy, and the Day of Judgment. Think of it as the Lord's Prayer for Muslims. It acknowledges God's role as the sustainer of the universe. The Fatiha is one of the most important parts of Islamic life and worship.
