Definition
A "knacker" traditionally refers to someone who buys old or worn-out livestock (especially horses) for slaughter, often for their meat, hide, or bones. Historically, knackers also dealt with old or broken-down equipment and recycled usable parts. The term can sometimes have a negative connotation, implying someone who profits from the discarded or unwanted. In modern usage, it's a less common term, but can still refer to someone involved in the disposal of animals or old machinery. Think of it as a kind of recycler, but specifically for animals and old goods.
