Parhelic refers to something related to a parhelion, also known as a sun dog or mock sun. A parhelion is a bright spot appearing in the sky, often seen as two luminous spots on either side of the sun. These spots are created by the refraction of sunlight through ice crystals in the atmosphere. It's like the sun having twin siblings hanging out beside it! They're most visible when the sun is low on the horizon. Parhelic phenomena are beautiful optical illusions.
