Definition
A pinguecula is a yellowish, slightly raised bump that grows on the conjunctiva, the clear tissue covering the white part of your eye. 🟡 It's usually located on the side of your eye closest to your nose. Think of it like a small callus on your eye. 🦶 Pingueculae are non-cancerous and often caused by sun exposure, wind, and dust. They're more common in older adults, but teens can develop them too, especially if they spend a lot of time outdoors without eye protection. While usually harmless, they can sometimes cause irritation or dryness. 🌵
