Definition
A scorpion shell refers to the shell of a sea snail belonging to the genus Lambis, specifically those with particularly prominent and curved projections resembling a scorpion's tail. Itβs the punk rock version of seashells π€. Imagine a regular shell went through a rebellious phase. These projections serve as a defense mechanism and possibly for stability. Unlike hermit crab shells, these snails actually live in their shells their whole lives. They are found in tropical waters, crawling along sandy bottoms and coral reefs.
