A wireworm isn't a worm at all! It's the larva of a click beetle 🐛. These larvae are long, slender, and hard-bodied, resembling a piece of wire – hence the name. They live in the soil and can be destructive to crops. Wireworms feed on the roots and stems of plants. This can cause significant damage to agriculture. They can remain in the larval stage for several years. They are the underground villains of the garden.
