Definition
The *bronchial vein* drains blood from the larger bronchi in the lungs. These veins are relatively small but essential for pulmonary circulation. Think of them as tiny rivers ๐๏ธ draining a vast forest of airways. They collect deoxygenated blood from the bronchi and carry it back to the heart. The right bronchial vein usually drains into the azygos vein. The left bronchial vein often drains into the accessory hemiazygos vein or the left superior intercostal vein.
